1. Break your routine

- Walk/ride/drive a new route to work or go on the opposite side of the road you normally would walk; you'll notice new things from a different perspective
- Have lunch at a new place
- Have something different for breakfast that re-energizes you

2. Drink coffee

- Researchers do know that caffeine works by binding to receptors for brain chemicals associated with mood
- Coffee is also a great antioxidant - which helps prevents "rusting" of the our body cells
- Try drinking a different coffee! Make it fun

3. Be social

- Take a break from scrolling through your Facebook feeds and engage in your work environment
- Chat with someone new
- or think of a good new topic to talk about with the same person
- Feel engaged!

4. Walk around with your head up or straight forward

- Research shows: body posture affects your mood
- Head position matters when walking. Avoid looking down, instead look straight ahead, or slightly up for mood enhancement
- Looking forward focuses you live in the present, while looking up is to the future
- Be purposeful in your body movements - it builds confidence!

5. Make plans for after work

- Plan something you think you'll like doing (preferably a new activity)
- Keeps you looking forward to more of the day
- Improves your mental well being and fuels your creativity

Pro tip:

It's all about feeling newness of situations that pulls you out of the blues! You have to take action to do at least some of these things to begin feeling better - go for it!
