IPad or MacBook? Which one to travel with

I’ve been travelling with my 12.9” iPad Pro with a Magic Keyboard and a 2019 16” MacBook Pro, both offer different experiences and the use case depends on the situation.

Which is the best for travel?

That depends.

Using the iPad

My favourite time to use the iPad is when I’m in “student mode.” This means I’m using it to learn Thai by writing out the Thai alphabet with the Apple Pencil.

Also reading books on the iPad is extremely enjoyable, even with the 12.9” format. In fact, I enjoy the lager iPad size compared to my 11” iPad because it just feels nicer to read on something with more screen real estate.

I’ll have to admit, I don’t use my iPad as often as I do with my MacBook Pro.

Using the MacBook Pro

Something about using a traditional laptop makes me feel more productive. It’s the all-a rounder that I can rely on using to get things done. Weather it’s learning how to code or using the Adobe Suite, it can handle anything I throw at it.

The physical size of the 16” MacBook Pro has a better “lapability” feeling to it, not having to worry that it will slip off if you sort of have it sitting more on one side more than than the other. The iPad is top heavy and feels like it can flip any time I let it free.

Having the abilities to put windows side my side, or having multiple desktop views is something that is missing with the iPad. This traditional feature is what enables laptops to feel like a true tool.

Which would I choose to travel with?

Hands down the MacBook Pro only if I wasn’t learning a new language. But because I am, I’ll be using both in the meantime.

The HP Spectre x360 13.3" Touchscreen/Pen model (13-AC010CA)

The HP Spectre x360 13.3" Touchscreen/Pen (13-AC010CA) The Spectre x360 is the latest 13.3" product from HP that has a hinge that allows the screen to rotate a full 360 degrees, making it a great contender for your 2-in-1 portability pursuit. The major difference here is that it doesn't have a detachable keyboard, and just maybe that in tablet mode  grabbing at the keyboard on the backside makes it a little awkward to hold. Not a deal breaker though. Unboxing Experience Right from the get-go you know you're dealing with something serious. HP knows that the unboxing experience is just as important as the experience with the laptop itself, and they didn't skimp out. One look at this box and you're jittering with excitement! What Comes Inside The Box You'll be glad to know that the HP Spectre x360 comes fully loaded . Inside the box you get: HP Quick USB-C charger Leather like carrying case (custom, with pen holder!) Overview The Pros: Great battery life (up to 10-12 hours per charge) 256 GB SSD Hard Drive (we love the silence of a solid state hard drive!) Thin and portable enough 15.6" 1080p HD display screen (1920 x 1080) Dedicated NIDIVIA 940MX 2GB video card Intel i5 - 7 series processor The low price point The Cons: Trackpad feels a little cheap, too "bouncy-clicky" Display screen seems just a little bit dim, even on full brightness setting Overall: 3.7/5 STARS A great budget laptop that packs a punch! Made for the number cruncher, the student who values the balance between portability and performance, or the everyday person who likes watching a lot of videos and playing the casual game. The Physical The Acer Aspire E15 generally feels great in the hand when it's folded and carried it around. Despite having about 2 times the thickness of a MacBook Air, Acer did a great job at keeping the weight down to be able to say...

Pros and Cons | Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Over the past few weeks I delved into the pros and cons of almost every laptop available for sale through my local Best Buy, Staples, and various other computer stores, and was able to narrow down my next purchase to these top two contenders: The HP Spectre x360 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 I've done an unboxing of the HP Spectre x360 previously, click  here  for it. Today we'll talk about the Surface Pro 4. A laptop is suppose to fit your needs. Gamers buy powerful laptops with all the bells and whistle so it can run all the latest graphics without overheating. A desk jockey would look for portable, but the slightly less powerful, to crank out the office documents in no time quick, placing more emphasis on the quietness and aesthetics. Naturally, as an office worker, this would explain why my top choices are both ultra portable laptops, made for the person who are always doing work in differen...
