The iPhone 6s Plus has been my daily driver for the past few years and for good reason. It's been reliable, fast, and its screen size never had me yearning for more. Fast forward to today in 2019 and I've decided to upgrade myself to the iPhone X and it's been amazing so far. I love the sleek design of the white one, and the dual camera is great. However, I wouldn't say that the whole experience has been life changing, and here's why:
Essentially Same User Interface
It really is true what everyone says, the same old dated home screen you get on the previous generations is present in the X. This can be good for someone who wants the upgrade with the modern hardware, but the comfort of already knowing how to navigate the phone. For me personally, it makes the phone feel less exciting. The exciting bit of it is the home button is gone and you now swipe up to get back to the home screen.
Only Slight Speed Differences
The iPhone 6S Plus was the flagship model of 2015, and naturally that means Apple packed a lot of speedy hardware for the time. Using it in 2019 would not leave you wanting more speed, because it's still pretty fast! When I switched over to the X, yes I can feel a slight increase in speed but in day-to-day usage the difference isn't noticeable. I can browse the internet, send messages and emails, and use my everyday apps feeling like the two phones are identical.
Now this is not to say that the X isn't worth the upgrade, personally I think it is if you have some extra cash you'd like to use to treat yourself. But if you're a hold out looking for something disruptive, I suggest keep waiting or try Samsung.
