What's your take on the new Windows 8? (Pictures)

Windows 8, which was fully unveiled at the Windows Build Conference in Anaheim, California, is here, and it looks much, much different from Windows 7. Sure, it has the start-bar-and-icon "Desktop" look that Windows users are familiar with, but it also has a new, touchscreen-optimized interface called 'Metro,' which looks more like the Windows Phone operating system and which looks like the future of Microsoft Windows from here on out.

The touch-optimized interface was all Stephen Sinofsky, President of Windows, and Julie Larson-Green, Corporate Vice President of Windows, were talking about when they showed off Windows 8 to developers at the conference. (They did not, however, mention when the new OS would be available to users.)

Here are some screenshots of the new Windows 8 from Sinofsky and Larson-Green's presentation, along with explanations of the newest features and interfaces that users can expect on their new tablets and PCs.

Acer Aspire E5-575G-55NW 15.6" laptop REVIEW

Overview The Pros: Great battery life (up to 10-12 hours per charge) 256 GB SSD Hard Drive (we love the silence of a solid state hard drive!) Thin and portable enough 15.6" 1080p HD display screen (1920 x 1080) Dedicated NIDIVIA 940MX 2GB video card Intel i5 - 7 series processor The low price point The Cons: Trackpad feels a little cheap, too "bouncy-clicky" Display screen seems just a little bit dim, even on full brightness setting Overall: 3.7/5 STARS A great budget laptop that packs a punch! Made for the number cruncher, the student who values the balance between portability and performance, or the everyday person who likes watching a lot of videos and playing the casual game. The Physical The Acer Aspire E15 generally feels great in the hand when it's folded and carried it around. Despite having about 2 times the thickness of a MacBook Air, Acer did a great job at keeping the weight down to be able to say...

The HP Spectre x360 13.3" Touchscreen/Pen model (13-AC010CA)

The HP Spectre x360 13.3" Touchscreen/Pen (13-AC010CA) The Spectre x360 is the latest 13.3" product from HP that has a hinge that allows the screen to rotate a full 360 degrees, making it a great contender for your 2-in-1 portability pursuit. The major difference here is that it doesn't have a detachable keyboard, and just maybe that in tablet mode  grabbing at the keyboard on the backside makes it a little awkward to hold. Not a deal breaker though. Unboxing Experience Right from the get-go you know you're dealing with something serious. HP knows that the unboxing experience is just as important as the experience with the laptop itself, and they didn't skimp out. One look at this box and you're jittering with excitement! What Comes Inside The Box You'll be glad to know that the HP Spectre x360 comes fully loaded . Inside the box you get: HP Quick USB-C charger Leather like carrying case (custom, with pen holder!) HP Stylus ...
