Telecoms regulators in India have now put a 100 text message a day cap on all mobile phone users.
According to BBC news, millions of mobile phone users in India have been experiencing dozens of unsolicited text messages and phone calls from marketing firms daily -- some, even as late as 3 A.M.
Officials there have recently tried combating this problem by heavily fining marketing firms that violated the "National do not call" list. It deemed unsuccessful because it only increased the amount of text messages sent.
Now that text messages are being regulated by the service provider, this problem is expected to be curved for good.
